I've known
Lorraine since 1992, when we met up in Colorado. Since then we've
both gotten our doctorates and have both run research institutes for
major universities (OK, technically, she's been an interim director and
I've been a deputy director, but really, we were running things all
along). Lorraine is one of the smartest people I know and has
this tendency to do good things for people, like working in public
health and such. She has also come a long way from the days when
the end tables by her sofa were simply moving boxes turned upside down
with a sheet thrown over them (bet you thought I forgot about that,
sweetie!!). I haven't gotten to see her much in the last few
years, but I'm hoping that she'll move to DC soon (hint, hint...).
