Opakapaka
An Opakapaka is a fish, a Hawaiian pink snapper. And I'm sure if you tried really hard (well, maybe not too hard at all, actually) that could be turned into a sexual reference.
But I digress.
Hawaii has been fun this weekend. We have drunk a few mai tais. Friday we spent at the beach here at the hotel, then got all dressed up and went to a fancy restaurant for dinner...so fancy it doesn't have a sign and we drove by it twice before we finally called them and got the details. The food was great, some of the waiters seemed flirty, and all in all it was a good night.

We had planned to go out afterwards, but we got back to the hotel almost at midnight and still had to change and make our way out...and the jet lag was hitting hard. So we opted for sleep instead.
Saturday the weather was mixed, and seriously, it would be completely different at points only 2 miles apart. Weird. But we finally went snorkeling at Hanuama Bay, whihc is a beautiful nature preserve where you can snorkel right over the coral and play with the fish. Beautiful place, and a few cute guys, too.

Saturday night we were out at a restaurant I'd visited before which had plenty of cute waiters the last time I went. There was about a 45-minute wait, and I asked the hostess to please seat us in the "cute waiter" section. She laughed at that and then ended up putting us with a waitress. Oh, well, at least she was funny. Food was good but we were way too stuffed for dessert, so we walked back to the hotel.
We ended up napping, and when I woke around 11pm I was sure we were done for the night, just too tired to go out. But we rallied, and headed out to this one club a short walk away. It was packed, and there were plenty of cuties, but it was mostly locals who know each other and I didn't get the sense they spent a lot of time talking to tourists...and why should they, since we leave soon, anyway. There was one guy who looked like he could be Barak Obama's son...he was checking one or both of us out but we never did chat with him. Anyway, we ended up going to bed around 2:30am and both had trouble sleeping...but we got up today to beautiful weather, so out we went.
We headed down to the gay beach...yes, there's a gay beach in Honolulu, though there were a few straight couples who hadn't gotten the word. Mostly locals, a few tourists, and some surfers...yum. We got cruised a little bit, but again, it doesn't seem like the locals spend much energy on tourists.

We're going to hit another club tonight, AFTER dinner, AFTER our deep tissue massages at the hotel spa in about an hour and a half.
Beautiful day. My last vacation day, I have to start working Monday, though Adrian gets to play until he flies home tomorrow night on the overnight flight. I think he's had fun. I know I have.
But I digress.
