Ouch

I had a minor outpatient procedure on Wednesday (no big deal) and I'm feeling it today. On the downside, I'm in a little bit of pain (though it's dissipating) and I'm walking like an old man through the apartment (no one needs to mention that I actually AM an old man). On the upside, it gives me a good excuse to take off from work Friday and stay home to watch Virginia play in the NCAA tournament. Always look for that silver lining.

Oh, and Dancin' Mike called last night, which was perfect timing as I was stuck in bed and getting very bored. We talked for almost an hour and a half and I'm happy to report that he's doing VERY well in Barcelona. Design school is going well and he seems to be getting on well with the locals too. So yay him!

I also have some news of my own but I need to tell a few people around here before I share it with the world. So now that I've (hopefully) whetted your appetite, be sure to come back!

First, thank you for spelling and using "whetted" correctly. The regular use of "wetted" and "peaked" (rather than "piqued") around the Web drives me nuts. Stupid, I know, but just a pet peeve of mine.

Second....ooooo, I can't wait. Your news is always so big, it seems to pretty regularly make me think about my own stuff, too.

Third, loving the worldclocks in the banner! I don't use it nearly often enough, but I do seem to regularly try to figure out what time it is in
Stuttgart when I think about my friend that lives there. The clock helps! Although it cracks me up that their second hands don't all move quite in sync.

p.s. Hope your pain passes quickly! And you are so not an old man. And I hope your news is good. Best wishes.

David: thanks for the good wishes, the pain is being replaced by weird sensations that are freaky but don't really hurt as much. Glad you like the clocks, I tried to place them where I know I have readers and friends (we share the same friend in Stuttgart, of course) but I wish I'd had more room for Dallas, Tulsa, KL, NYC, State College, and others. Alas.

The news is interesting. Maybe I should set a time to announce it to the world and have a big Web event. Or maybe not. Maybe that's the sort of thing an old man would do.

You're moving to Santa Cruz. That's the news, I know it is. Yeah for me! Hope you start feeling better. I think you should just change the SF clock to Santa Cruz except set it back about 10 years.

Awwww, I'm sorry you are hurting hon. Did you see Adrian said he would go to concerts with me? I'm moving to Philly April 10th so I will hold him to that promise. Actually, I am hoping you, Adrian, me and Billy can go on a double date some time. Plus, I fully expect you two at my wedding once we get everything figured out.
