Star Trek
Is anyone else as excited as me by the fact that JJ Abrams (who created "Lost" and "Alias") is going to be producing (and possibly directing) the next Star Trek film, due out in 2008?
I realize this news is a couple weeks old, but I'm in Colorado, and news takes a while to get here.

Excited, but skeptical. I love me some Star Trek (well, except that dreadful theme song from Enterprise), but the idea of starting a movie franchise with an all-new cast and time period doesn't do much for me. There's already such a broad universe of possibilities to work with, do we really need to start over?
But on the other hand, I do like JJ pretty darned consistently. I may even go see my first M:I movie at the theatre.
BTW, thought about you guys when I was in D.C. for business last week. Next time maybe we can meet up for a drink!

Apparently they've got the storyline for Lost planned for another five years.
I'm still gonna watch it for now, but I really don't think I have the stamina for a glorified Gilligan's Island.

Savante: obviously when you say "Any cute sexy cowboys available..." what you mean is "Any cute sexy cowboys besides you available..." But I'll forgive the omission. To be honest, I haven't met too many sexy cowboys around here, though it's possible you and I have different definitions of "cute" and "sexy." :P
Dave: sorry we missed you, we'll be in DC soon so hope to meet up with you next time. Re: the theme from "Enterprise," if Adrian and I ever have a commitment ceremony, we'll probably play that song there. "It's been a long road..."
Jay: I'm still getting caught up -- thank goodness for DVRs and iTunes -- and once I am I may agree with you. I got a bit tired of "Alias" after a while, since once they disrupted SD-6 the really cool element of the show -- the double agent part -- was gone. BTW, I've been reading through the archives of your blog...I so want to meet you and NM!!!

Open mouth - insert foot :-)
To each his own. The lyrics are fine, but I'm just an anti-fan of Diane Warren's melodies in general. Didn't mean to insult!

God, and I have all those shit in my room still. Wow, I'm so out of the loop these days. And to think I didn't even follow Enterprise. Must have sucked a big one.
